マイクロソフトとオラクルは戦略的提携の下で、両社が運営するクラウドであるMicrosoft AzureとOracle Cloudの緊密な相互接続を行うと発表しました（オラクルの発表、マイクロソフトの発表）。

この提携により両社のクラウドは高速なネットワークで相互接続されることになります。まずは本日よりOracle Cloudの北米リージョン（Ashburn）とAzureの米西リージョンが接続され、今後さらにほかのリージョンへの接続も行われる予定です。

Enterprises can now seamlessly connect Azure services, like Analytics and AI, to Oracle Cloud services, like Autonomous Database. By enabling customers to run one part of a workload within Azure and another part of the same workload within the Oracle Cloud, the partnership delivers a highly optimized, best-of-both-clouds experience.

企業はAzureのAnalyticsやAIなどのサービスと、Oracle CloudのAutonomous Databaseなどをシームレスに接続できる。この提携による高度に最適化された両社の優れたクラウド体験は、利用者はワークロードの一部をAzure上で、それ以外をOracle Cloud上で稼働させるとことも可能にする。

両社のクラウドは、単に相互接続されるだけではありません。シングルサインオンも可能になります。

Unified identity and access management, via a unified single sign-on experience and automated user provisioning, to manage resources across Azure and Oracle Cloud. Also available in early preview today, Oracle applications can use Azure Active Directory as the identity provider and for conditional access.

統合アイデンティティとアクセス管理が統合シングルサインオン体験と自動化されたユーザープロビジョニングによって提供され、AzureとOracle Cloud間でのリソース管理を実現する。また、OracleのアプリケーションはAzure Active Directoryをアイデンティティプロバイダとアクセス管理のために利用可能になり、これを本日よりアーリープレビューとして提供する。

また、Azure上でのOracleアプリケーションからOracle Cloud上のOracle Autonomous DatabaseやExadataといったデータベースサービスを利用することも可能。カスタマサポートについても両社で協力して提供していくとのことです。
