死後に活動を開始する「ゾンビ遺伝子」が人間の脳内で発見される

　2021年3月23日、イリノイ大学のジェフリー・ローブ氏らが、人間が死んだ後に活性化し、細胞の成長を促進する遺伝子が脳内にも存在することを明らかにしました。

　人間は死亡すると血液による酸素の循環がなくなり、体内の細胞は急速に活動を停止します。
　しかし、死亡した後に活性化して細胞の成長を促進させる「ゾンビ遺伝子」が2016年にマウスとゼブラフィッシュで発見され、後にこのゾンビ遺伝子が人間の体内にも存在することが明らかになっていました。
