・動画：抗議する黒人女性像、奴隷商像跡に設置 英ブリストル

【7月16日 AFP】英国南西部ブリストル（Bristol）で15日、人種差別に反対するデモ隊によって先月引き倒された奴隷貿易商人像の台座に、当時のデモに参加していた黒人女性の像が市当局の許可なく設置された。

　この像は英国人アーティストのマーク・クイン（Marc Quinn）氏が、「黒人の命は大切（Black Lives Matter）」運動参加者のジェン・リード（Jen Reid）さんをモデルに制作したもので、拳を突き上げるポーズをとり、「力の高まり（A Surge of Power）」と名付けられた。

　台座に立っていた奴隷貿易商エドワード・コルストン（Edward Colston）の像は、米国で黒人のジョージ・フロイド（George Floyd）さんが死亡した事件を受けて先月行われたデモで引き倒され、ブリストル湾（Bristol Harbour）に投げ込まれた。

　同市のマービン・リース（Marvin Rees）市長は、リードさんの像は市当局の許可を受けずに設置されたとした上で、「台座の将来と、台座に何を置くかはブリストル市民によって決められなければならない」と述べている。(c)AFP
