2017年9月2日(土)より、4週間限定で劇場上映がスタートとなるアニメ『機動戦士ガンダム THE ORIGIN 激突 ルウム会戦』。この度、第5話「激突 ルウム会戦」の続編となる第6話「誕生 赤い彗星」の公開日が2018年5月5日(土)に決定しました。

1979年にTV放送された、日本ロボットアニメの金字塔『機動戦士ガンダム』のキャラクターデザイン・アニメーションディレクター 安彦良和氏が手掛けた『機動戦士ガンダム THE ORIGIN』のアニメ化作品となる本アニメ。

今回の公開日の決定と併せて、「誕生 赤い彗星」のティザービジュアル、場面カット、劇場前売券 第1弾＋特典情報が解禁となりました。劇場前売券 第1弾については、9月2日(土)より3,000円(税込)にて発売。特典はHE ORIGINのシャア専用ザクの最新カラーリングをベースに、メタリックで成形した限定特別バージョン「EXCEED MODEL ZAKUHED　シャア専用ザクII（メタリックVer.）」となってます。マーキングも新たにTHE ORIGIN版で再現されているので、要チェック!!

第6話「誕生 赤い彗星」場面カット
宇宙世紀0079年1月23日、戦場はルウムにうつり、ジオン、地球連邦の両軍の戦いの幕が切って落とされた。ジオン軍の若きエースパイロット、シャア・アズナブルは自らが駆る赤いモビルスーツ「ザク」による目覚ましい活躍で名声を上げ「赤い彗星」の異名をとるようになった。

そして激戦の末、和平交渉のテーブルにジオン、地球連邦軍がそろったときある声明が世界中に発信される。

一方、地球連邦軍は反撃すべく「V作戦」を計画する。そのころ、サイド7の平穏な日常のなか、少年アム・レイは自ら行動し新兵器「ガンダム」の秘密を探りつつあった…
