When Steve Bannon, Donald Trump’s former adviser, spoke at the conference of the Japanese Conservative Union, he praised Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, calling him a “Trump before Trump.” Bannon is not the only Western right-winger to admire Japan. Simone di Stefano, leader of Italy’s neofascist Casa Pound, is dreaming of an alliance between Italy, Russia, and Japan. And for Jan Moldenhauer, an ideologue of the xenophobic Alternative for Germany, when it comes to immigration, “Japan is the alternative.”
Since 2012, Abe has gradually enforced a hard right-wing agenda from within. He has impeccable nationalistic credentials. He is a special adviser of the Nippon Kaigi, a right-wing organization that strives to reconstruct Japan on a nationalist basis. It is active, for example, in advising the government on education policies, promoting ideas about “morals” as well as revisionist history textbooks.
Nippon Kaigi is influential in the LDP. At some point 18 out of 20 of Abe’s cabinets were members, many of whom with clear ultra-right sympathies. 以下略)

The White House is scrambling to figure out how a prank call from a comedian who pretended to be Sen. Robert Menendez managed to get a return phone call from the president, a person inside the White House said Friday. いたずら者はRobert Menendez上院議員を語って大統領からの電話の返答を受けることに 成功
The person inside the White House said the call was routed to the president by the president’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner and that it was not routed through the office of legislative affairs, which had no record of Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat, trying to connect with the president. この電話を大統領に取り次いだのは女婿のクシュナー
And while legislative affairs got notified of the call and subsequently tried to kill it after learning from Menendez’s chief of staff that the senator was not trying to reach Trump, the call was still put through, the person said.
A recording of what appears to be the president’s voice talking to who he seemingly believes to be Menendez can be heard on the podcast of John Melendez, also known as Stuttering John, a regular guest on shock jock Howard Stern’s radio show. Using a British accent and posing as Menendez’s assistant Sean Moore, a name he invented from James Bond actors Sean Connery and Roger Moore, Melendez first called the White House switchboard, which said it could not reach Trump because he was delivering a speech in North Dakota at the time. Later, Melendez said Kushner called him back, after which he said he and a friend, who posed as the New Jersey senator, were put on the phone with the president. コメディアンのJohn Melendezのサイトに大統領の音声が公開された 0017日出づる処の名無し2018/06/30(土) 06:49:34.71ID:zOHJuB/o *コメディアンの仕掛けで、大統領はエアホースワンから電話・・・ http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/ny-news-melendez-trump-phone-family-separation-20180629-story.html Comedian John Melendez says he prank-called President Trump on Air Force One masquerading as New Jersey senator By CHRIS SOMMERFELDT JUN 29, 2018 | 1:50 PM
“So Bob, let me just tell you: I want to be able to take care of the situation every bit as much as anyone else, at the top level,” Trump told Melendez, thinking he was Menendez, according to the recording. “I’d like to do the larger solution rather than the smaller solution. They’re doing them step by step. I think we can do the whole thing.”
While on the phone with Melendez, Trump conceded the family separations weren’t a good look, according to the recording. “It’s not like it’s good for you or good for me,” Trump said. “I’m tired of the problem.” Trump urged the man he thought was Sen. Menendez to work with congressional Republicans and hammer out a comprehensive immigration bill ending family separations and beefing up border security.
“I have a good relationship with the party, you have a good relationship with the party, and I think we could do a real immigration bill,” Trump can be heard saying. At the beginning of the phone call, Trump referenced Menendez’s indictment on corruption charges, which ended in a hung jury last year before he was cleared of all charges this year.
“You went through a tough, tough situation, and I don’t think a very fair situation, but congratulations,” Trump said, according to the recording. Melendez explained to the Daily News on Friday afternoon he finally got through to Trump after calling the White House switchboard and putting on a “ridiculous” British accent pretending to be Sen. Menendez’s secretary. He was transferred to a White House aide who said Trump couldn’t talk because he was at a rally in North Dakota. 0018日出づる処の名無し2018/06/30(土) 07:09:06.86ID:zOHJuB/o ワシントン・ポストの報じたドイツからの米軍引き上げについて大統領側近の Conway は否定 Andrew Feinberg@AndrewFeinberg・32m BREAKING: Conway Tells Reporters ‘No Evidence’ Of Trump Plans To Withdraw US Troops From Germany Despite Reports That Pentagon Is Conducting Cost Analysis Of Withdrawal

(Reuters) - General Motors Co warned on Friday that higher tariffs on imported vehicles under consideration by the Trump administration could cost jobs and lead to a “a smaller GM” while isolating U.S. businesses from the global market.
The largest U.S. automaker said in comments filed with the U.S. Commerce Department that overly broad tariffs could “lead to a smaller GM, a reduced presence at home and abroad for this iconic American company, and risk less ? not more ? U.S. jobs.” Higher tariffs could also hike vehicle prices and reduce sales, GM said. Its comments echoed those from two major U.S. auto trade groups on Wednesday, when they warned that tariffs of up to 25 percent on imported vehicles would cost hundreds of thousands of auto jobs, dramatically raise prices on vehicles and threaten industry spending on self-driving cars.
GM operates 47 U.S. manufacturing facilities and employs about 110,000 people in the United States. It buys tens of billions of dollars worth of parts from U.S. suppliers every year, and has invested over $22 billion in U.S. manufacturing operations since 2009. GMの米国内で販売する自動車の30%は海外生産(メキシコ、カナダ、欧州、中国) Still, 30 percent of the vehicles GM sold on the U.S. market in 2017 were manufactured abroad, according to the Michigan-based Center for Automotive Research. WASHINGTON ? U.S. intelligence agencies believe that North Korea has increased its production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months ? and that Kim Jong Un may try to hide those facilities as he seeks more concessions in nuclear talks with the Trump administration, U.S. officials told NBC News.
U.S. intelligence agencies have stepped up their collection against North Korea in recent years, and it appears to be paying off with greater insights into a country that has long been the world's hardest spying target, officials say. NBC News agreed to withhold some details of the latest intelligence assessment that officials said could put sources at risk. "There are lots of things that we know that North Korea has tried to hide from us for a long time," a U.S. intelligence official said.
