【ニューヨーク=白岩ひおな】米国の新型コロナによる累計感染者が21日、1200万人を突破
した。1日あたりの新規感染者数も20万人に迫る。米疾病対策センター（CDC）は感染抑制
へ旅行の自粛を呼びかけているが、間近に迫る感謝祭休暇で人々の移動が広がり、さらなる
感染拡大の懸念が高まっている。
米ジョンズ・ホプキンス大の集計によると、米国の新型コロナ感染者数は米東部時間21日午
後5時（日本時間22日午前7時）時点で1203万8千人を超えた。世界の累計感染者数（5793万人）
の約2割を占める。世界の死者数は137万7千人超で、米国の死者数は25万5千人超に上る。
春の「第1波」、夏の「第2波」を超える水準の感染拡大が続くなか、医療体制の逼迫が重い
課題だ。米国の感染状況を分析する「COVIDトラッキング・プロジェクト」によると、21日
の入院患者数は8万3227人で過去最多となった。
ロイター通信によると、米国では今月に入りすでに20を超える州が必要不可欠な業種を除く
営業禁止や夜間外出禁止などの制限措置を相次いで導入している。ただ、11月末のサンクス
ギビング（感謝祭）の連休では旅行や帰省など家族や友人と集まる機会が増えるため、感染
拡大に拍車がかかる可能性がある。
CDCは感謝祭をめぐるあらゆる種類の旅行を控えるよう「強い勧告」を出した。特に感染拡

米ペンシルベニア連邦地裁、大統領選結果巡るトランプ氏の訴え棄却
［２１日 ロイター］ - 米ペンシルベニア州の連邦地裁は２１日、州当局による大統領
選でのバイデン氏（民主党）の勝利認定を差し止めを目指したトランプ陣営（共和党）
の提訴について、これを棄却する判断を下した。
トランプ陣営は郡の選挙管理当局による郵便投票の扱いに一貫性がないと主張し、９日
に提訴していた。
連邦地裁のブラン判事は訴訟について「法的根拠がなく推測による主張」だと指摘。
自身には「誰一人の投票権を奪う権限はない」と述べた。また、陣営の主張は「『フラ
ンケンシュタインの怪物』のように、場当たり的に縫い合わされたものだ」と批判した。
共和党のブラン氏は、オバマ前大統領（民主党）によって任命された保守系判事。
トランプ大統領の弁護士を務めるジュリアーニ元ニューヨーク市長は声明で、判断に失

【ワシントン＝黒瀬悦成】米大統領選で敗北が確実となった共和党のトランプ大統領の
陣営は２２日、「選挙に不正があった」として訴訟攻勢を展開していた陣営の弁護団の
一員だった女性のシド・パウエル弁護士について「トランプ弁護団の一員ではない」と
言明し、実質的に絶縁したとする声明を発表した。
パウエル氏は、弁護団長のジュリアーニ元ニューヨーク市長らと１９日にワシントン市
内で行った記者会見で、今回の大統領選をめぐり、共産国家のキューバとベネズエラ、
中国の資金提供でトランプ氏の放逐を目指した「国際的な策謀」があったと主張した。
同氏はまた、ドミニオン社などの集計システムによって大量の票がトランプ票からバイ
デン票に書き換えられたとし、さらには一連のシステムが数年前、ベネズエラのチャベ
ス政権（当時）の不正選挙のために開発された技術を応用していると説明していた。
同氏の主張に対しては、熱烈なトランプ支持勢力を除いては「荒唐無稽な陰謀論」との
評価が定着しているほか、トランプ氏に近い保守派の論客からも「何一つ証拠が示され

The apparent effort of the Trump legal team to distance themselves from Ms. Powell
comes after she has been functioning as a member of the president’s legal team.
Mr. Trump included her in a list of his team’s lawyers in a Nov. 14 tweet, saying
she was part of a “truly great team, added to our other lawyers and representatives!”
The announcement came as the president has seen a series of courtroom defeats in
his efforts to overturn his election loss to President-elect Joe Biden. The latest
came Saturday when a federal judge in Pennsylvania dismissed a Trump campaign
lawsuit that accused Pennsylvania officials of enabling voter fraud.
An administration official, following release of the statement, said in an
unsolicited text message: “This has become a farce. The legal effort is now making
the president a national laughingstock.”

Powell has been pushing the debunked Dominion voting machines conspiracy theory
that Trump adores. Trump’s legal team has lost almost three dozen challenges
to the election, and now they are attacking each other.
It’s time to pack this circus up and send it home. Before election day people
were afraid that Trump would mount a serious challenge to the results and plunge
the nation into a constitutional crisis. Instead, Trump has put together a legal
defense that looks just like his delusional and failed presidency.
Incompetence defined Trump’s presidency, and it is the hallmark characteristic

クリスティー前ニュージャージー州知事は22日、各地で法廷闘争を展開しては証拠不十
分などを理由に負け続けているトランプ陣営の弁護団を、「国民的な恥さらし」と厳し
く批判した。
共和党のクリスティー前知事は米ABCニュースの番組で、「正直に言って、大統領の弁護
団のふるまいは国民的な恥さらしだ」と述べた。
クリスティー氏は、トランプ氏の弁護団が「不正選挙があったと法廷の外ではしきりに
主張するが、いざ法廷に入ると、不正選挙だと主張しないし、不正選挙だと陳述しない」
と批判した。
「私は大統領を支持してきた。2度にわたり、大統領に投票した。けれども選挙には結果
というものがある。実際に起きていないことが起きたかのようなまねをし続けるわけには
いかない」と、前知事は述べた。
クリスティー氏は2016年大統領選で、現職州知事としては真っ先にトランプ氏を大統領候
補として表立って支持した。今回の選挙では、大統領候補討論会に向けての準備を手伝っ
た。ただし、11月4日未明の時点でまだ開票が続いているにもかかわらずトランプ氏が勝
利を宣言した際には、時期尚早だと述べていた。
トランプ氏の弁護団のうち、クリスティー氏はとりわけ、シドニー・パウエル弁護士を
厳しく批判した。 パウエル弁護士は、弁護団が19日に共和党全国委員会本部で行った記者発表で登壇。
弁護団を率いるルディ・ジュリアーニ氏らと並び、不正選挙があったと具体的な証拠を
示すことなく力説した。特にパウエル弁護士は、投票機が数百万もの票をトランプ票か

敗北が確実となった共和党のトランプ大統領陣営が同州での約７００万票の郵便投票を
無効にするよう求めた訴えを退ける判決を下した。トランプ陣営は「大規模な不正投票
があった」として複数の激戦州で選挙結果の逆転に向け訴訟を起こしているが、請求は
次々と棄却された。陣営は各州の選管による選挙結果の確定を遅らせる戦術に軸足を移
したが、形勢逆転の機会は閉ざされつつある。
トランプ陣営の「不正選挙」をめぐる訴えで、棄却されたか、自ら取り下げたのは今回
で３０件目。これまでに勝訴したのは、ペンシルベニア州での投開票作業の手続きに関
して争った２件にとどまっている。
ペンシルベニア州の連邦地裁はまた、同州選管が選挙結果を確定させることに問題はな
