(Reuters) - China’s unexpected move to slash incentives for solar power has sent stocks into a free fall and prompted analysts to lower forecasts for global installations this year amid expectations that a glut of excess panels would send prices tumbling.
IHS Markit, a market research firm, was preparing to lower its global solar installation forecast for this year by between 5 and 10 gigawatts, or up to 9 percent, analyst Camron Barati said. The impact in China, which accounts for half the global market, could be up to 17 GW, the firm said. Another market research firm, Wood Mackenzie, said on Wednesday that China’s capacity additions would likely be about 20 GW lower than it had expected.
Some third parties were able to access data about Facebook users' friends even after most third-party developers and their apps were barred from doing so in 2015, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Why it matters: The social network cited its decision to cut off access to this data throughout the Cambridge Analytica scandal, but did not reveal that a select group of companies ? referred to internally as "whitelist deals" ? still had access to the information. What they’re saying: A Facebook spokesperson said in an email that the company had extended access to friends’ data to a group of developers in 2015 beyond the cutoff date because they had asked for extra time to deal with the changes in Facebook's policy. The spokesperson described those extensions as brief and said they had not been active for years. The spokesperson also said that sometimes developers could gain third-party access to friends' data during the beta testing of new features.
What Zuckerberg told Congress in April:社長の議会聴聞での答弁 "We made some big changes to the Facebook platform in 2014 to dramatically restrict the amount of data that developers can access and to proactively review the apps on our platform. This makes it so a developer today can’t do what Kogan did years ago." 「フェイスブックは2014年にドラマティックな変更を行い開発者のアクセスできる 利用者データの制約を強めた」 0024日出づる処の名無し2018/06/09(土) 16:25:41.53ID:HB7+UCYf What the Journal's Deepa Seetharaman and Kirsten Grind reported Friday: "The company said it allowed a 'small number' of partners to access data about a user’s friends after the data was shut off to developers in 2015. ... The vast majority of developers who plugged into Facebook’s platform weren’t aware that the company offered this preferred access or extensions to certain partners, according to the people familiar with the matter."
The big picture: This story, coming right after the furor over Facebook's data sharing with device makers, reinforces the picture of a company that's been less than forthcoming at key moments. That turns even its small decisions into big stories ? and leaves the public with the sense that the shoes will never stop dropping. フェイスブックの利用者データの漏洩スキャンダルが止まらないと看做される状態 0025日出づる処の名無し2018/06/09(土) 16:28:19.00ID:HrHkNMc3>>21 絶対だれか書くと思ったw 0026日出づる処の名無し2018/06/09(土) 16:40:10.07ID:HB7+UCYf 政治的には、フェイスブックのデータシェアのパートナーにHuaweiなどの中国企業の 含まれることが問題化していて、議員の批判がある https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2018/06/08/facebook-shared-user-data-with-select-companies-after-shutting-access-for-developers-report/ Facebook’s deals with Huawei drew special scrutiny, as heads of CIA, FBI, NSA and the director of U.S. national intelligence in February warned Americans from using Huawei devices because they were concerned the company shared data with the Chinese government. "They have no choice. I'll be honest with you, they have no choice," Trump told reporters at a news conference, adding that companies and jobs had left the U.S. to escape trade barriers abroad. "We're going to fix that situation. And if it's not fixed, then we're not going to deal with these countries."
“We’re the piggy bank that everybody is robbing,” Trump added at one point. “And that ends.”
He also warned the countries against trying to hit back against the steel and aluminum tariffs his administration recently announced, adding that he would continue to pursue such trade measures until other countries relented and agreed to "fair" trade deals with the U.S.
"The European Union [EU] is brutal to the United States. And they understand that. They know it," he told reporters at a news conference ahead of his departure from Canada. "When I'm telling them, they're smiling at me, like, the gig is up." "They can't believe they got away with it. Canada can't believe it got away with it," he continued. LA MALBAIE, Quebec (Reuters) - The Group of Seven leaders came to their summit in Canada braced for battle, and while everyone had smiles ready for the cameras, behind the scenes U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a “rant” and recriminations on trade to U.S. allies, leaving the once united club deeply divided.
Trump gave “a long, frank rant”, the official said, repeating a position he carried through the 2016 U.S. election campaign into the White House that the United States had suffered at the hands of its trading partners, with French President Emmanuel Macron pushing back on the assertion and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe chiming in.
It was a “a long litany of recriminations, somewhat bitter reports that the United States was treated unfairly,” said the French official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “It was a difficult time, rough, very frank.” The U.S. president did not appear to be listening during some of the trade presentations, another G7 official familiar with the meeting said. 0044日出づる処の名無し2018/06/10(日) 07:51:55.52ID:cj3i2OVk White House officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the characterisations by these officials of Trump’s remarks or attention to the presentations. President Trump is willing to consider establishing official relations with North Korea and even eventually putting an embassy in Pyongyang, according to two sources familiar with preparations for the Singapore summit. "It would all depend what he gets in return," said a source close to the White House. "Denuclearization would have to be happening." The sources stressed that this is one of many topics that could be discussed at the summit, and that certainly nothing like that has been decided or is necessarily expected to emerge from Trump’s historic mano a mano with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
But the U.S. and North Korean working groups ? with engagements in New York, the DMZ and Singapore ? have discussed establishing official relations between the two countries that would involve putting a U.S. embassy in Pyongyang. One of the sources, who is familiar with the president’s thinking, said Trump had made it a point not to reject any ideas headed into the summit:
"It’s definitely been discussed," the source said. "His view is: 'We can discuss that: It's on the table. Let’s see.' Of course we would consider it. There’s almost nothing he'll take off the table going in." The source said North Korean officials have been wildly inconsistent in the pre-meetings, making it difficult to get any read on how the discussions might go. 0054日出づる処の名無し2018/06/10(日) 10:39:57.18ID:cj3i2OVk The source close to the White House added: "POTUS will consider any idea anyone brings him if it delivers on denuclearization that is irreversible and verifiable. He won't be played by Kim. But it is not his style to ? on the front end ? rule out possibilities of what could happen or may happen depending on how negotiations go."
The backdrop: The U.S. established diplomatic relations in the 1880s with Korea’s former Joseon Dynasty, but never extended diplomatic relations to the current Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the north, after the countries were split in 1948.

Coats said Russia had conducted cyberattacks and disinformation campaigns with the intent of “degrading our democratic values and weakening our alliances.” “These Russian actions are purposeful and premeditated and they represent an all-out assault, by Vladimir Putin, on the rule of law, Western ideals and democratic norms,” he said.
“[Putin’s] actions demonstrate that he seeks to sow divisions within and between those in the West who adhere to democratic norms,” he added. Coats, a former US congressman and senator, delivered a clear warning of Russian attempts to split the transatlantic alliance.
“The Russian threat in particular has awakened Europe to the need to reinvigorate NATO and bolster our collective defenses,” he said. “The Russians are actively seeking to divide our Alliance, and we must not allow that to happen.” Coats used his speech to explore ways in which democracies can be strengthened. Perhaps mindful of the challenge the United States currently poses to the liberal world order, he said: “In my current position, my responsibility is to focus on foreign threats to our democracy?and refrain from commenting on politics in the US. It is not pretty.” 0110日出づる処の名無し2018/06/10(日) 19:18:34.37ID:ozZNKrpN ID:fZYR/kBの言いたい事

In the middle of a juicy New York Times report about palace intrigue and ongoing staff dysfunction in the Trump administration is a revelation of potentially vast significance. The story notes that Trump has ignored his chief of staff and many of his putative top advisers to seek the informal advice of his true confidants. One of those confidants is Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt. “The two speak frequently,” the Times reports, “and the president enjoys discussing his negative view of Jeff Sessions, the attorney general, with the embattled E.P.A. leader.” If Trump had an easy and risk-free way to stop Mueller, he would have done it already. WASHINGTON ? In a rare rebuke of President Donald Trump, Republican Senate leaders set up a vote for this week that would undo the White House deal to revive Chinese telecommunications company ZTE Corp.
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross was on Capitol Hill late Monday to lobby against the move. But Democratic and Republican lawmakers said that an agreement had been reached to wrap into the National Defense Authorization Act an amendment that would ban ZTE from buying components from U.S. suppliers. Joint Statement of President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at the Singapore Summit
President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a first, historic summit in Singapore on June 12, 2018.
President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un conducted a comprehensive, in-depth, and sincere exchange of opinions on the issues related to the establishment of new U.S.-DPRK relations and the building of a lasting and robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Convinced that the establishment of new U.S.-DPRK relations will contribute to the peace and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula and of the world, and recognizing that mutual confidence building can promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un state the following: 0263日出づる処の名無し2018/06/12(火) 16:15:37.28ID:nGcTvyWF @The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new U.S.-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity. AThe United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. BReaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. CThe United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.
Having acknowledged that the U.S.-DPRK summit ? the first in history ? was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulations in this joint statement fully and expeditiously. The United States and the DPRK commit to hold follow-on negotiations, led by the U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and a relevant high-level DPRK official, at the earliest possible date, to implement the outcomes of the U.S.-DPRK summit.
President Donald J Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have committed to cooperate for the development of new U.S.-DPRK relations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and security of the Korean Peninsula and of the world. 0264日出づる処の名無し2018/06/12(火) 16:21:20.52ID:ZOznwkZc 拉致については直接話しするための準備くらいはしてるのかしてないのか 現時点ではわからんのう 0265日出づる処の名無し2018/06/12(火) 16:22:13.07ID:nGcTvyWF 米国メディアのリアクション(例) Michael Schuman認証済みアカウント @MichaelSchuman My initial reading of the Trump-Kim joint letter is that's a big fat pile of zero. Donald Trump has chosen to follow in his predecessor’s footsteps?indeed, to expand upon his ignominious legacy?and usher North Korea by the hand into the international spotlight. What happened on Monday in Singapore was a disgrace. What was billed as a summit designed to secure a negotiated end to the crisis on the Korean Peninsula?a crisis that the North Korean regime alone inaugurated and aggravates?became Kim Jong-un’s coming-out party.
Donald Trump, the legitimately elected president of the world’s most powerful free republic, beamed as he pressed the flesh with the warden of the world’s largest prison? a country with an annual GDP comparable to that of Eugene, Oregon. They dined together on short rib confit and soy-braised codfish?a Korean favorite, in deference to Kim. Trump said it was “my honor” to greet Kim, who is a “very talented man.” “We have a terrific relationship,” he added. They took photographs before a backdrop of American and North Korean flags. It was a scene suggestive of a relationship between equals, which is something Americans with a cursory understanding of history and a functioning moral compass have previously denied the Kim dynasty.
At no point in the last three months has the president or his administration appeared to understand that the summit itself was a considerable concession to the Kim regime. 0355日出づる処の名無し2018/06/13(水) 02:43:17.86ID:im4PcrqJ The North Korean government sought the summit, as it has for the last quarter century, and the administration finally accepted the overture as a chance to achieve “denuclearization.” But once this grandiose affair got underway, “denuclearization” seemed an afterthought.(後略) 0356日出づる処の名無し2018/06/13(水) 02:46:55.66ID:im4PcrqJhttps://jp.wsj.com/articles/SB10741569098686024242904584282590621001818 米朝首脳会談、専門家は成果に懐疑的「中身乏しい」 By Louise Radnofsky and Jessica Donati 2018 年 6 月 13 日 02:10 JST

If the US stops joint military exercises with South Korea, it will be a big step forward on the Korean Peninsula. If achieved, China's "suspension for suspension" proposal, which calls for North Korea to suspend its nuclear and missile activities in exchange for the suspension of US-South Korea military exercises, would come to reality. A new leaf will be turned over.
With a cooling down of military activities, less US military participation, and possibly an eventual US troop withdrawal, the peninsula will completely walk out of the shadow of the Cold War. If political process moves toward this direction on the peninsula, the whole region will benefit.
These will be natural developments once the North Korea nuclear issue is completely resolved. Since the "North Korea threat" no longer exists, there will be no grounds for the US and South Korea to continue large-scale military drills and for Washington to maintain its military presence in South Korea. 0422日出づる処の名無し2018/06/13(水) 14:28:37.30ID:im4PcrqJ Public opinion in the US and South Korea were doubtful over whether North Korea would actively implement any agreement reached. But the main obstacle to the peace process of the peninsula in the future may come from Washington and Seoul, or even Tokyo. Right after the summit concluded, Western media criticized that Trump received nothing from this meeting. There are also voices claiming that the cancelation of US-South Korea joint military drills is a victory for China and North Korea. (略) Japan has particularly mixed feelings toward harmony on the Korean Peninsula. For Tokyo, hawkish US policy will add to allied Japan's weight and boost Japan's strategic value.
After dealing with North Korea for a few rounds, Trump's team has developed a more realistic mindset on the issue. But his domestic foes probably would rather mess everything up, prioritizing embarrassing Trump above protecting the long-term interests of the US.
Trump and Kim have an opportunity to create history. If Trump can realize complete denuclearization of the peninsula, and Kim can bring prosperity to North Korea, it will be great feat for both of them.

The real test will come when U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo follows up in the weeks and months ahead. Cohen, who has been under criminal investigation for months, which is separate from the special counsel case, has been rushing to meet U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood’s Friday deadline to complete a privilege review of over 3.7 million documents seized in the April 9 raids of Cohen’s New York properties and law office. Cohen, who is under federal investigation now with no legal representation, is likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors in Manhattan, sources said. The lawyers currently representing President Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen are "not expected to represent him going forward," which makes him "likely to cooperate with federal prosecutors in New York," ABC's George Stephanopoulos reports.
Why it matters: As Axios' Mike Allen has reported, Cohen "is the only person on earth intertwined in Trump’s professional, political, personal, legal and family life ? the man with secrets few others hold." Trump tweeted in April: “Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if it means lying or making up stories. Leaving aside my usual critiques of Trump, which are, as you may have noticed, colorful, varied, and pointed, let’s give the president a fair assessment of his week’s activities, and thanks and credit where thanks and credit are due.
Of course, we start when Trump fled the humid confines of Washington, D.C., jetting to Quebec to blow up the G7 summit and take a massive political and rhetorical dump on some of our longest-standing and closest allies. US media has been rife with complaints about the Singapore summit's achievements. They criticized that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has won US' concession without making any new commitment. They also doubted US President Donald Trump's pledge to end joint military drills with Seoul, saying that it satisfies both Pyongyang and Beijing. (略) Tensions on the Korean Peninsula have never been lower. North Korea has suspended its nuclear and missile tests, scrapped its nuclear test site, and repeatedly promised to work for complete denuclearization. Back to the second half of 2017, when there were the most serious tensions and hostilities between the two countries, the US society wouldn't believe today's progress possible. How can the US "lose" when there are so many visible achievements?
It's impossible for North Korea to completely comply with US' request of denuclearization. However, the Kim-Trump summit eases tension on the peninsula and opens up a new prospect for future negotiation. The peninsula issue needs a good start, but whether the current US media can support Washington in further resolving the issues remains unknown. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >It's impossible for North Korea to completely comply with US' request of denuclearization. >北朝鮮がアメリカの求める非核化に完全に応じることは不可能であるが・・・

President Donald Trump stunned his fellow world leaders at the G7 meeting when he said he would ship “25 million” Mexicans to Japan, which would result in Prime Minister Shinzo Abe losing his next election. During the gathering in Quebec ? which ended with Trump leaving early and refusing to sign the traditional joint communique ? the president was talking about what he called Europe’s immigration problem when he turned his attention to the Japanese leader. トランプ大統領は彼の言う移民問題で安倍首相に対して、2500万人のメキシコ人を 送り込めば、貴方は次の選挙に負ける、という “Shinzo, you don’t have this problem, but I can send you 25 million Mexicans and you’ll be out of office very soon,” Trump said, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a senior EU official who was in the room. The commander-in-chief also raised eyebrows when the subject turned to Iran and terrorism. “You must know about this, Emmanuel, because all the terrorists are in Paris,” he told French President Emmanuel Macron. トランプ大統領はまた、マクロン大統領にイランとテロリズムについて語り、「エマニュエル、 貴方は知るべきだが全てのテロリストはパリに居る」として人々を驚かせた “A sense of irritation with Mr. Trump could be felt, but everyone tried to be rational and calm,” the official told the paper. Trump arrived late to the gathering, left early, and later attacked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “weak” after Trudeau said Canada would retaliate for tariffs on imported steel and aluminum imposed by the US. カナダのトルドー首相については弱虫とよんで攻撃 0665日出づる処の名無し2018/06/16(土) 09:11:23.69ID:XgwDkG6n While the president has insulted America’s longest allies, he had nothing but praise for brutal North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un after their brief sitdown later in the week, calling him “a very smart guy” and “a great negotiator.”
The president may maintain his antagonistic style, but follow through on fewer threats and promises. The secret is that US elections are a form of "square behavior" that rely on slogans and labels to garner votes, and Americans eat it right up. President Trump sympathizes with agriculture states, safeguards the Rust Belt region, and protects the country's high-tech industry by imposing tariffs. It is this kind of impression the White House wants Trump to make with US voters.
Yet despite everything, levying tariffs and starting a trade war are outdated and ineffective methods in the era of globalization. It is by far an irresponsible act on behalf of the White House to disrupt international trade just to appeal to American voters who are convinced their president is fighting for them. This hides the true pattern of global trade as their real, long-term interests are quietly undermined.
The US ignores the rules of the multilateral global trading system and has even set their credibility aside for bilateral negotiations. For a long time, it has been a staunch advocate of the current international system. Its interest should be fostered and appropriately collected. And yet here they are willing to sacrifice everything for short-term gains.
There are two key points here. First, the text of the brief document that the leaders signed does say that North Korea "commits to work toward complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula". But this is neither new nor convincing.
A former US nuclear negotiator with the North Koreans, Republican David Asher, who led the North Korean activities group in the White House of George W. Bush, says: "For the President to say that the nuclear threat has been eliminated is, I think, unwise. If he's wrong, it'll be on him."
Asher, a scholar at the Centre for New American Security, says: "I have hope, but after dealing with the North Koreans for 25 years, it's not a promise I personally can have great faith in." Asher has a litany of first-person examples of Kim Dynasty duplicity.
So the first point is that no one can yet know whether Trump has actually de-fanged a dangerous enemy. But the second point is what everyone does know now - that Trump is prepared to trade away the interests of an ally if he thinks it will help him get a deal with an enemy.

Talk about China winning big, thanks to a man who is constantly pouring contempt on “losers”. In short, the only way Canada could develop a bomb in secret would be to somehow acquire rogue nuclear technology and operate it in secret. By JASON SCHWARTZ 06/16/2018 06:36 AM EDT
Breitbart’s traffic declined in May for the seventh straight month, according to comScore metrics, bringing the site to its lowest level of readership since January 2015, and half of what it was a year ago.
Since the ouster of former executive chairman Steve Bannon in January, the site has been forced to search for a new identity, and, like other ideological publishers, has been pinched by changes to Facebook’s algorithms in January. Its current slide began in November, though, three months after Bannon was forced out of his top adviser role in the White House, but two months before he left Breitbart.
In the world of more traditional conservative media, where Breitbart was seen as an early alt-right disrupter, critics were quick to cite the readership figures as signs of an overall decline in influence. “I never hear about them, anymore,” said conservative commentator Matt Lewis, in an email. “Nor do I have a sense that they drive the debate or the discussion ?or that anyone is worried about them writing something negative about them.” 0727日出づる処の名無し2018/06/17(日) 10:17:49.28ID:WRFHw5zZhttp://www.afpbb.com/articles/-/3177904 米国民をより落胆させたのはトランプ氏かイヴァンカ氏か?

For a more prophetic vision of the future, you should read the complaint against Trump, his children and his foundation by New York State Attorney General Barbara Underwood. Why prophetic? Because it’s likely a preface to the report or complaint that special counsel Robert Mueller will bring. The alleged crimes described by Underwood are not similar to those being investigated by Mueller. But the behavior is.
One stumbling block to public understanding of the Mueller probe, in addition to a steady stream of propaganda and lies designed to undermine it, is that it’s hard for even a cynic to accept the premises of what is being investigated.
U.S. history simply doesn’t offer a lot of reference points for a major-party political candidate who so casually subverts the law and sells out the nation’s highest values. How many Richard Nixons are there?
To believe the accusations that Trump colluded with Russia, laundered vast amounts of money and/or put American foreign policy on the auction block in return for the enrichment of his family requires an awkward leap of faith. You have to believe this leader is both profoundly corrupt -- far more so than Nixon -- and staggeringly sloppy -- again more so than Nixon.
This is essentially the portrait that Underwood paints in the detailed accusations against the head of the Trump Foundation: that of a shady huckster who engages in “persistently illegal conduct” and is buffoonishly sloppy along the way. 0736日出づる処の名無し2018/06/17(日) 12:09:43.06ID:WRFHw5zZ How does Underwood know campaign personnel were involved in spending decisions? Because the Trumpsters are so recklessly contemptuous of rules that they left a trail of this blatant violation of campaign-finance law on their emails. At least one email thread included Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski weighing in on where he wanted the foundation’s tax-deductible funds directed.
The foundation also made a $25,000 contribution to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who subsequently determined that fraud charges against Trump’s university were not a proper matter for her office. The foundation listed the contribution as going to a Kansas nonprofit with the same name as Bondi’s political committee.
“The Foundation has no credible explanation for the false reporting of grant recipients to the IRS and the State of New York,” Underwood concluded.
Trump will likely claim he was uninvolved and unaware. But Underwood’s complaint has that covered, too.
Mr. Trump, who was the sole signatory on the Foundation's bank accounts, approved all grants and other disbursements from the Foundation. Accounting staff for the Trump Organization had responsibility for issuing checks from the Foundation, and issued the checks based solely on Mr. Trump's approval before presenting the checks to Mr. Trump for signature.
Indeed, the foundation’s board didn’t provide much of a check on Trump’s personal whims, owing to the fact that, in violation of the law, it “has not met since 1999 and does not oversee the activities of the Foundation in any way.”
It took the attorney general’s office months to investigate this narrow corner of the Trump universe ? even though the evidence was lying around in plain sight. Mueller’s investigation is far broader and more consequential. His complaint may yet take a while. But it should be a doozy. The master negotiator appears to have no clue how to haggle with North Korea Dealing with North Korea, Trump puts showmanship first

An American businessman looked to set up a communications back channel between North Korea and the Trump administration through White House senior adviser and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner last year, The New York Times reported on Sunday.
Financier Gabriel Schulze reportedly contacted the Trump administration last summer, saying that a top North Korean official wanted to speak with Kushner about a possible meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong Un. Kushner referred the talks to then-CIA director Mike Pompeo, according to the Times, which noted that Kushner may not have contacted then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson because of their tense relationship.
The White House and CIA declined to comment to the Times about Schulze’s reported contact with Kushner. “I do not discuss the nature of my business or personal relationships,” Schulze told the newspaper in a statement.
Kushner also reportedly created a back channel between Chinese officials and the Trump administration last year. Kushner and the Chinese ambassador to the U.S. then organized a meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to the Times.(後略) 0778日出づる処の名無し2018/06/18(月) 00:55:36.89ID:vtNyElIO <まんが> あいつは危険だ! http://api.theweek.com/sites/default/files/20180614edsheb.jpg?resize=807x807

One of the biggest red flags for President Trump’s reelection emerged this week from a region that he can never stop talking about: the Rust Belt. The president still frequently likes to remind reporters about his conventional-wisdom-busting victories in the blue-wall states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, but he isn’t paying attention to how much they’ve reverted to Democratic form lately. Senate Republicans are all but conceding that Democratic senators will be coasting to reelection in Midwestern states that Trump narrowly carried. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, notably, has left off Democratic seats in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ohio when he listed off the most competitive races for this year’s midterms. The Democrats’ leading Senate super PAC, so confident of its prospects in the region, isn’t reserving any time for Sens. Tammy Baldwin, Bob Casey, Debbie Stabenow, or Sherrod Brown. Meanwhile, Ohio is becoming a major warning sign for the GOP’s fortunes in the upcoming midterms?and beyond. The state backed Trump by a healthy 8-point margin in 2016, fueled by dramatic swings towards Republicans along the blue-collar eastern spine of the state. Trump’s winning margin in bellwether Ohio was nearly identical to his winning margin in ruby- red Texas. Given the promising political trends from Trump’s election, Republicans were hopeful that they could upset Brown and hold the governorship with an established figure like Attorney General Mike DeWine. Early polling showed the Senate race competitive and DeWine holding a healthy lead over the opposition. 0787日出づる処の名無し2018/06/18(月) 07:13:46.45ID:vtNyElIO But the political movement in Ohio is headed in the opposite direction, even with Trump’s recent uptick in popularity. Trump’s job approval in the state is at 43 percent with 54 percent disapproving, according to a new Quinnipiac survey. Nearly half of respondents to a Suffolk University poll of Ohio voters said their midterm vote would be a check on the president, compared to 28 percent saying their vote would be to support Trump’s agenda. And Brown now holds a commanding double-digit lead over Rep. Jim Renacci in the latest public polls, with Democrat Richard Cordray inching ahead of DeWine. Governor races in the other Trump states aren’t looking much better. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has watched his party lose numerous downballot elections on Trump turf and is openly concerned about the GOP’s standing in the state, despite a lackluster Democratic field against him. Democrats will be aggressively contesting the open Michigan governor’s seat, eager to litigate the record of a Trump-friendly attorney general (Bill Schuette) in a traditionally blue state. Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf is coasting to a second term, with The Cook Political Report changing its rating of the race to Likely Democratic. Cook has also shifted Iowa GOP Gov. Kim Reynolds’s race against businessman Fred Hubbell for a full term from Likely Republican to Toss-Up.
These results should be alarming for Republicans, who were hoping to hang on to Trump’s unconventional coalition for the presidency over the long haul. These Midwestern states feature a disproportionate share of those famed Obama-Trump voters, whom many Democrats feared would move permanently into the Republican column. Even as Trump is shamelessly trying to win them over by implementing tariffs on steel and aluminum and fighting polarizing culture wars, many are defecting back towards the Democrats for this year’s midterms. The growing economy and shrinking unemployment rate simply aren’t enough to keep them in the fold. 0788日出づる処の名無し2018/06/18(月) 07:14:29.33ID:vtNyElIO It also is a blow to congressional Republicans, hoping to limit their losses to the Republicans representing diverse, suburban constituencies where Trump is particularly unpopular. Democrats can win back the House simply by winning the lion’s share of affluent districts near major metropolitan areas. But if members representing small-town Midwestern turf are endangered?like Reps. Mike Bost of Illinois and Mike Bishop of Michigan?the odds of a bigger wave grow. It’s why Conor Lamb’s upset special election victory outside Pittsburgh in March was so alarming for Republicans?it was taking place on working-class turf that should be as favorable for Trump as it gets. There’s a reason Democrats are encouraging their candidates to focus on the economic anxieties many Americans still feel despite the macro-economic boom. Health care is now polling as the top issue among voters, driven by middle-class Americans worried about rising expenses for medical care. Trump may be shattering traditional Republican economic dogma, but his blunt-force approach to politics isn’t convincing his newfound fans to vote for his adopted party. By Michael C. While China might be able to avoid a devastating trade war in the short term, the long-term trajectory of US-China relations is almost certain to be characterized by escalating tension, and potentially even a full-blown cold war
Decoupled economically, the US and China would have far less reason to exercise restraint in their geopolitical competition. To be sure, a hot war between the two nuclear-armed powers would remain unlikely. But they would almost certainly engage in an arms race that fuels overall global risk, while extending their strategic conflict to the world’s most unstable areas, potentially through proxy wars.
Trump’s erratic approach to China demonstrates that he has neither the strategic vision nor the diplomatic discipline to devise a policy of managed strategic conflict, much less a doctrine (like that created by President Harry Truman in 1947) to pursue a cold war. 0831日出づる処の名無し2018/06/18(月) 19:36:05.04ID:vtNyElIO This means that, at least in the short term, the most likely trajectory of Sino-American relations is toward “transactional conflict,” characterized by frequent economic and diplomatic spats and the occasional cooperative maneuver. In this scenario, bilateral tensions will continue to mount, because individual disputes are settled in isolation from one another, based on a specific quid pro quo, and thus lack any strategic coherence.
