5:30 p.m. The Associated Press has learned that the recently fired FBI deputy director kept personal memos detailing interactions with President Donald Trump. And they have been provided to the special counsel’s office. The memos kept by former FBI official Andrew McCabe are similar to the notes compiled by dismissed FBI chief James Comey. They could factor into the special counsel’s investigation into Trump campaign ties to Russia.

WASHINGTON, DC (March 17, 2018) ? U.S. Representative Mark Pocan (WI-02) today extended an offer of employment to Andrew McCabe, the former Deputy Director of the FBI, so that he can reach the needed length of service after President Trump fired him just days before he was set to retire.
“Andrew McCabe’s firing makes it clear that President Trump is doing everything he can to discredit the FBI and undermine the Special Counsel’s investigation,” said Rep. Pocan. “While Speaker Ryan and House Republicans have become complicit in the President’s destruction of our democracy, we must do all that we can to ensure that the investigation into Russia’s interference in our election is completed and that future elections are safeguarded from these kinds of attacks.”
"My offer of employment to Mr. McCabe is a legitimate offer to work on election security. Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of American democracy and both Republicans and Democrats should be concerned about election integrity,” continued Rep. Pocan. “From Governor Walker’s outrageous voter ID laws that kept an estimated 17,000 registered Wisconsin voters from the polls in 2016, to Republicans in Pennsylvania gerrymandering a map to rig elections in their favor, our electoral systems are under attack. We must take serious steps to not only secure our elections from foreign actors like Russia, but also ensure that the American people have faith that their votes matter.” 0018日出づる処の名無し垢版2018/03/18(日) 12:03:22.73ID:JiP9hTJohttps://jp.reuters.com/article/usa-trump-pompeo-idJPKCN1GS12H 2018年3月17日 / 08:39 / 1時間前更新 焦点:トランプ信者が外交トップに、ポンぺオ国務長官の横顔 Matt Spetalnick and David Brunnstrom

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) urged President Donald Trump and his lawyer on Sunday to stop flailing at special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation and to let the probe continue unimpeded. "When you are innocent … act like it," Gowdy said on “Fox News Sunday“ when asked about Trump's repeated Twitter attacks on Mueller, whose probe has become increasingly perilous to the president and his inner circle. "If you’ve done nothing wrong, you should want the investigation to be as fulsome and thorough as possible."
Gowdy's comments came a day after Trump's attorney John Dowd called for Mueller's investigation to be shut down. Gowdy issued the same exhortation to Dowd: "If you have an innocent client, Mr. Dowd, act like it.” Trump himself spent the weekend lobbing repeated Twitter attacks at Mueller's investigation over the weekend, including on Sunday, when he labeled Mueller's team of prosecutors "hardened Democrats."
"The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime," Trump tweeted Saturday evening, naming Mueller in a tweet for the first time.

WASHINGTON ? Democrats enjoy a 10-point advantage over Republicans in congressional preference for the 2018 midterm elections, even as President Donald Trump's job approval rating has ticked up, the latest national NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds. 中間選挙の共和党と民主党の選択で、民主党が10%の有意 Fifty percent of registered voters say they prefer a Democratic-controlled Congress, while 40 percent want a GOP-controlled one. That double-digit lead ? typically a sign of strong Democratic performance for the upcoming election ? is up from the party's 6-point edge in January's NBC/WSJ poll, which was 49 percent to 43 percent, though the change is within the poll's margin of error. 下院議員選挙で民主党支持が50%、共和党支持が40%、1月の調査では49%:43%で6%差であった
The survey, which was conducted March 10-14, also shows Democrats holding the early enthusiasm advantage: Sixty percent of Democratic voters say they have a high degree of interest in the upcoming elections (registering either a “9” or “10” on a 10-point scale), versus 54 percent of Republicans who say the same thing. In addition, 64 percent of 2016 Clinton voters say they have a high level of interest, compared with 57 percent of 2016 Trump voters.
Meanwhile, the NBC/WSJ polls finds that Trump's approval rating stands at 43 percent among all Americans ? up four points from January. Fifty-three percent of adults say they disapprove of the president’s job, down from 57 percent two months ago. The improvement for Trump comes from Republican respondents (who went from 78 percent approve in January to 84 percent this month), white men (52 percent to 59 percent) and independents (33 percent to 45 percent).
“Trumpism may well help Donald Trump in his 2020 election, but the buck stops there ? which is a flashing red light for Republicans in 2017 or 2018,” says Democratic pollster Fred Yang, who conducted the poll with GOP pollster Bill McInturff. Still, Trump’s overall approval rating at 43 percent is the lowest for any modern president at about 14 months into his job. 0063日出づる処の名無し垢版2018/03/19(月) 07:04:24.58ID:PjadYwIg “Survey to survey, numbers bounce around. But today’s state of play continues to tell the same story ? a president with lower than average job approval starting his second year with a Democratic edge in the midterms,” says McInturff, the Republican pollster.
Also in the poll, the most popular political figures and institutions are the Federal Bureau of Investigation (48 percent positive, 20 percent negative)

Comey’s book, “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” won’t be released until April 17. Cambridge Analytica has had a rough week.
